Hurricane Wilma Small Business Emergency Bridge Loans
The South Florida Regional Planning Council administered an emergency bridge loan program for Monroe, Miami-Dade and Broward County businesses that suffered physical damage as a result of Hurricane Wilma.  This program provided short-term financial assistance (up to $25,000) to businesses, enabling them to quickly begin repairs, replace inventory and resume operations.  These short term loans helped bridge the gap between the time a major catastrophe hit and when a business secured other resources such as sufficient profits from revived business, receipt of payments on insurance claims, and secured longer-term loans.

The interest-free loans came in terms of 90-day or 180-day maturities. To be eligible, a business must have been in operation for one full year prior to Hurricane Wilma, and have verifiable, physical damage to their business.

Other loan opportunities are available through the South Florida Regional Planning Council's Revolving Loan Fund.
