OVERVIEW

The Florida Department of Transportation has been working for nearly a decade to expand a 5.8-mile stretch of State Road 7 from Countyline Road to Griffin Road into a six-lane facility.  This is the last remaining portion of State Road 7 that is four lanes.  South of Countyline Road and north of Griffin Road the corridor has already been widened to six lans.  The State Road 7/U.S. 441 Collaborative is working with the Florida Department of Transportation to coordinate local redevelopment plans with the reconstruction plans.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has divided this stretch of roadway into six planning and construction segments.  There are currently three planning and construction segments that have yet to be completed by FDOT.  Starting at Countyline Road and moving north, the FDOT acquired right-of-way needed and began construction in mid 2006 and will continue through 2018.  The road widening will have an affect on adjacent properties.

The road widening will also play a significant role in the redevelopment potential of adjacent properties.  Property owners are strongly encouraged to participate in design seminars scheduled for the corridor.  The design seminars are free and open to the public.  The design seminars provide expert land use and design services to all corridor properties.  These design services are provided through a grant from The State Road 7/U.S. 441 Collaborative.  The State Road 7/U.S. 441 Collaborative is working to assist local governments and property owners with creating redevelopment plans that increase the value for all corridor properties.
